Limited Run "N" Daylight Collector's Train Set

Con-Cor has produced a series of "N" Scale Limited Run Collector's Sets since the the late 1970's. Almost 40 sets have been previously produced and most are highly sought after collector's Items. You can find some of the old ones advertised for sale on E-Bay and some go for pretty high prices.

The nest in the series of these sets will feature our new "N" GS-4 Daylight loco painted in the "orginal" paint scheme used on the Daylight with the words "Southern Pacific Lines" spelled out on the top panel of the tender. The rest of the consist will be 7 "N" passenger cars, also with the lettering "Southern Pacific Lines". These sets will be packed in a special wood grain box with die-cut foam.

The locomotives and many of the cars have already been produced for this set, we are only awaiting the finishing of the tooling for the N Diner car...so at this point it looks like the sets will probably be delivered about the end of March 2003.

The 7 cars in the set will consist of 1 Budd RPO car, 3 Budd Coach cars, 1 Budd Parlor car, one Budd Diner car, and one flatend observation car (one of the old Rowa models for which we found parts for this short run of Observation cars.

By early Jan. 2003 we are about 90% sold out on this set, but we are still accepting Reservations for them until we are totally sold out. You may use the link below to go to our Web order form.

Previous "N" Collector's Sets

We have produced these llimited Run collector's sets since 1977. The first set was the Chessie Steam Special set produced in 1977). We are asked from time to time for a list of the sets we have produced, so here it is !.

We are sorry, but we can not provide more information about these sets, we just do not have the time in the day to answer all the Emails we get now. But you can get more information on them from the various Collector's magazines that have documented them, as well as sources such as Ebay where they are frequently auctioned off.

To answer a few of the most common questions:

NO, we do not know where you can find some of the older sets. We suggest you watch the Ebay on-line auction site, as well as look around Train Shows and Train Flea markets, and also in the Classified Ad sections in the back of magazines such as Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman.

NO, we do not know what some of these sets are worth. It can very depending on what part of the country you are in. An Eastern Roadname set will, in general, command a higher price on the East Coast, than on the West Coast. Your best guide for value is what they are auctioned off for on Ebay.
